American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Madison made custom cookies for me for my business rebrand launch, and they came out absolutely phenomenal (both in taste and in appearance). Easy ordering process, easy pickup, and fabulous custom service all around. Could not recommend more!

I had the pleasure of ordering some Winnie the Pooh sugar cookies for my sisterβs baby shower! They were STUNNING, delicious, and went over swimmingly at the party. Madison is great to work with, and puts such care and effort into her work - truly someone who has mastered her craft of baking and decorating!

My daughter had a number blocks themed birthday and I needed custom cookies for her and her classmates. These cookies looked great. Not only did they taste good but they were exactly what I wanted. She also worked with me to keep colors limited so the price stayed in budget and worked with me on designs.

Yellow Garden Bakeshop is one of my all-time favorite small businesses! I regularly stop in at Little Blue Bakehouse to see what YGB has in their case and I am never disappointed. Their scones are INSANE. The mushroom scones are my fave and can elevate just a lame can-of-soup meal into a gourmet experience. Their drop cookies, like funfetti and chocolate chip, are always juuuust the right amount of sweet π€. Also, if you ever have an event coming up and need fun, elegant and beautifully-decorated treats, I highly, HIGHLY recommend YGB's custom sugar cookies. I'm including photos of the set they made for my niece's and nephew's birthdays recently so you can see the beauty and care. The kids were over the moon for this surprise. Did I mention the sugar cookies are absolutely delicious?? Oh and last but not least, Madison (YGB owner) crochets gorgeous pieces. Last Christmas I asked my three-year-old nephew what he wanted, and he said, "A Spiderman DRAGON!" I talked with Madison about this and, like a super crafty genie, she agreed to grant Wolfie's wish for me. Photos included so yall can see! If I could give this shop 10 stars, I would do that. Thanks for everything, Yellow Garde

I had ordered two dozen custom cookies with five different designs 4 of them were great, but the number 1 was terrible. It looks nothing like a number 1 and it looks like it was rushed or somebody with no experience put it together. I brought it up to them and explained my concern and they did not care. They offered a $20 gift card to use at their store . To me that was not fixing the problem as I still have $80 cookies that donβt look the way it needed to look. The only reason why I knew it was a 1 was because it said one on the side of it. Iβve asked around the family to tell me what they thought it was. Some people said it was a bone, other people said it was a log while others thought it was just a normal cookie no special design to it. We will not be using these cookies for the even. They truly look like they can care less about what they put out Update: I showed these cookies to three different professional bakeries and all three said they did not look like β1β. They said they would not give that to a customer, they made an attempt at it also mentioned whoever did the 1 needs more practice because that number is not easy to do. I brought these cookies out to display and 80 pe
